WHY E.M.E.R.G.E?

High school is a balancing act—classes, activities, friends, work, and family. Too often, programs add pressure instead of possibility. E.M.E.R.G.E is different.

We’ve designed E.M.E.R.G.E to be energizing, culturally affirming, and flexible—a safe space where Black students can show up fully as themselves while preparing for the next stage of life.

E.M.E.R.G.E a launchpad for dreams, leadership, and Black excellence.

ABOUT E.M.E.R.G.E

E.M.E.R.G.E is a year-long journey rooted in the these pillars:

  • Education
  • Mentorship
  • Empowerment
  • Relationships
  • Growth
  • Excellence

Blending these with our Black & curriculum, E.M.E.R.G.E helps students:

  • Celebrate their identity and heritage
  • Build meaningful connections with mentors
  • Strengthen college and career readiness
  • Develop leadership skills that last a lifetime

We want EMERGE to feel like:

  • A safe space where Black Students can show up as themselves
  • A launchpad for dreams and leadership skills
  • A celebration of Black excellence and cultural richness
  • A community that keeps our students engaged, even when they are not in the classroom

We know high schoolers are busy. E.M.E.R.G.E respects their time while keeping the momentum alive.

  • Anchor Sessions: Deep-dive workshops, guest speakers, and hands-on projects.
  • Community Connections: Flexible weekday evenings or short Saturday sessions (i.e. mentoring check-ins, service projects, and cultural outings).
  • Independent + Virtual Engagement: Ongoing (i.e. online challenges, curated media, and skill-building activities students can complete on their own schedule).

WHAT STUDENTS GAIN

  • Cultural Pride & Identity: Celebrate Black heritage and voice your story with confidence.
  • Mentorship That Matters: Consistent guidance from Black educators and leaders who’ve walked the path.
  • Practical Skills: College prep, financial literacy, leadership training, and career exploration.
  • Belonging & Community: A peer network that uplifts, supports, and challenges you.
