PROJECT SANKOFA

Helping Black youth, Black educators and school districts in racially isolated communities thrive through our research-based Black Educator Pipeline Teaching Credential Program, and school partnerships.

OUR FOCUS

  • We leverage research and resourcing Black students in racially isolated communities.

  • We are focused on sharing how the disbursement of Black families across the state leads to the decentralization of the Black community.

  • Our 3-year plan includes building a Black educator pipeline to rectify how students are seen and supported in academic spaces.

BLACK EDUCATOR PIPELINE Program

We have partnered with the University of the Pacific to launch a powerful new initiative: the Next Black Educator Workforce (NBEW) - a pipeline of Black middle and high school teachers through a combined Master’s and Teacher Credential pathway.

We prepare future educators to lead, teach, and mentor in racially isolated communities where their impact is needed most.

WHAT IS RACIAL ISOLATION?

Racial isolation is like being into a classroom or workplace and not seeing anyone who looks like you.

We intentionally create programs, resources, and networks that assist in developing Black youth and preparing Black educators in suburban and rural communities.

We aim to create a community, education, and service ecosystem for our constituents.
